Aerobic Cardiovascular Fitness The heart and lungs work together to provide your muscles with the oxygen needed for physical activity.
Perceived Exertion is a way of measuring the intensity level of physical activity. Perceived exertion is how hard you feel like your body is working. It is based on the physical sensations caused by physical activity, including increased heart rate, increased respiration or breathing rate, increased sweating, and muscle fatigue or tiredness. Although each person responds differently to physical activity, a person's exertion rating may provide a fairly good estimate of the actual heart rate during physical activity.
Heart Rate is a more accurate measure of your aerobic cardiovascular conditioning, and can be found by taking your pulse. By counting the number of beats per minute (BPM), you can measure the intensity levels of your exercise and play. To maintain a healthy heart, experts recommend at least 20 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity or "MVPA", each day.
